Coronation Day

This Saturday, 6th May, as I am sure we are all aware, is the Coronation of soon-to-be King Charles III. I was going to do this as a Writer Wednesday post but decided that it would be better as a stand-alone post and to make it available for all tiers, along with uploading it to my blog. This is a little poem as my way of commemorating King Charles III's special day. I hope whoever reads this enjoys it.

King Charles IIIs Coronation Day (The 6th of May)

By Freya A Hatfield

The 6th of May will forever be known as King Charles IIIs Coronation day,

Tables are set, guests are invited, people are arriving for this special day,

food is being made, decorations are being hung, and parties are happening around the world.

The 6th of May is King Charles IIIs Coronation Day,

The King's robes hanging, waiting to be worn, his crown also waiting, in a safe place,

his family gathering, excited and ready to celebrate his special day.

The 6th of May is King Charles IIIs Coronation Day,

King Charles III awaits for Saturday 6th May to arrive,

It will soon be here; just one more sleep to go.

The 6th of May is King Charles IIIs Coronation Day,

excitement rises from the gathering crowds, who wait to see his highness,

and chatter comes from those outside the palace, where he will wave to his people.

The 6th of May is King Charles IIIs Coronation Day,

It’s a solemn and joyous occasion; we gain a King but have lost an outstanding Queen.

Will his reign be as tremendous as his mother's? We will have to wait and see

when King Charles III is crowned on Saturday 6th of May.

The 6th of May is King Charles IIIs Coronation Day,

A day that young and old will remember and cherish for years to come.

The 6th May is King Charles IIIs special day, don’t forget, don’t be late

it only happens once in a reign.

The 6th of May is King Charles IIIs Coronation day.
